Do you want your Web site to rank well organically? Of course you do. There are many ways to rank high organically. You want to start a link building campaign. One major way is to have other reputable sites supplying links to your site. It would be wonderful for sites to give you links on their own accord without prompting, but this is not always the case. Reciprocal linking employs reciprocity; you give them a link and they give you a link. The following article is comprised to offer tips on the process of reciprocal linking.

- Search for sites which have a page ranking of equal or higher value to yours. This will gradually higher your ranking on the search engines.

- Exchange links with sites which are germane to your industry. If you are a search engine optimization site, then link to other SEO sites, marketing sites, copy writing sites, etc. These actions will also gradually higher your page ranking; more so then exchanging links with sites which are irrelevant to your line of work.

- Think about how you would like to be linked. Customers search via keywords such as, ‘80’s t-shirts.’ If you were a retro t-shirt company it would be better for someone to link to you using those specific words rather than just using your URL name (www.bobstshirts.com).

- Make sure you keep to your word. Check on your link partner to make sure they do so as well. It is not ethical to say you will exchange links with another party and then remove the link from your site.

- Remember, it is better to garner quality links rather than a quantity of links. For instance, it is far better to get a link from a site with a page ranking of six then to get three links from three different sites with a page ranking of two.

- Do not orchestrate a links page with a massive number of links. The search engines will likely label your site as a SPAM site which will be detrimental to your campaign. If you start to accrue many links, then create a link directory and spread your links according to relevant subjects.
