Have you considered starting a blog for your company? In the beginning, blogs were seen as more of a social outlet, an occasion for people to ‘meet’ via the Web and discuss topics.

Blogs have quickly become popular. Blogs are no longer strictly for social purposes, the business world has integrated blogging into its realms. Companies ranging from large to small seek to connect to customers and cohorts through blogging means.

Blogging helps build your brand, communicate with customers, and generate overall interest in your business. Ideally, you want your blog to attract a large readership. So, how do you do it?

The following article offers suggestions regarding increasing your blog’s popularity.

Create a base
A business blog’s main source of intrigue for readers is the content. Depending on your blog’s main theme, people will read you to gather information. Begin writing resourceful, detailed articles relating to your main topic. These will serve as an introduction to the kinds of posts that will be hosted on your blog. ‘How to’ or ‘101’ articles are perfect for base articles.

Be prolific
If you are not planning to provide large amounts of content, then you should not start a blog. Blog readers will come to expect new installments, and expect them often. Regular bloggers produce posts on a daily basis (some produce multiple posts per day).

Writing takes time. You may not be able to post several times a day or once a day, but you should plan on posting at least three to four times a week. It will be hard to attract regular readership if you are posting less.

Names matter
The blog’s name should clearly define the main subject matter. If your company is popular, then think about using the same name for your blog. If not, then focus on the content of the blog.

If your posts are going to be about finance, use finance in the title. If you are be writing about stocks, then have that word in your title. This increases the likelihood of random browsers serendipitously finding your blog when searching for the main keyword.

Not only be a writer, be a reader
Another part of the writing involves reading other blogs in your genre. Hot topics are usually discussed by multiple bloggers. It will be advantageous to read what others are saying and knowing their positions.

Bloggers often refer and link to other bloggers in their posts. This helps shape your personality to the readers and lets them know you are well read in reference to your main theme.

Commenting on other blogs will help you gain more readers. Readers will notice you, and bloggers will partake in commenting on your posts as well.

Prompt participation
You want your readers to participate in your blog by leaving comments. Comments are like testimonials in that it lets new readers know others are reading your posts too. Ideally, you want to start a family of regular readers. Readers will begin to notice one another (from names in the comments) and your blog will take on a life of its own.

Continue more core
Continue to produce your initial, core articles. Remember, people want information from your blog. Regular posts can be long, or they can be short, but core articles are lengthy and very informative. Your core articles will greatly increase your credibility, so continue to produce them.
