Often, businesspeople meet to discuss their industries, sales opportunities, partnerships, etc. Do you think your appearance affects the other person’s opinion of you? It definitely does. This means it is imperative to make a great first and lasting impression.

How do you do that? Consider the following suggestions:

Dress professionally

Business may have become more relaxed as exhibited through instances such as ‘dress down Fridays,’ but formal dress is always acceptable. Dressing conservatively shows respect for yourself and for the other persons.

There may be subtle exceptions, but in general, others will perceive you positively if you are dressed well.

Your dress is a part of your attitude. If you dress like you are successful, it will make it easier for you to act like you are successful, in turn making it easier to become successful.

Dress for where you want to be, not for where you are. If you want to be an executive, then dress like one.

Quality counts

It may be more expensive, but take the time to purchase quality clothing. Attempting to look the part cannot be accomplished by trying to sidestep the investment. Focus on accumulating a wardrobe based on quality rather than quantity.
