Get votes

Quality is more important than quantity. It will be much more beneficial to get one vote from a high ranking site than getting three votes from mediocre sites.

Keywords
It is great to get link attention from premier sites, but a browser will not come upon your site unless you are relevant to their search. Your keywords will align you with a browser’s particular search. For instance, a t-shirt company will want their site to rank well for ‘t-shirts’ because that word will most likely be searched by their potential consumers.

Words which describe your general and particular products and services will be your keywords. It is important to think like a consumer when comprising your keywords. You must think about how they will attempt to find the products and services you offer.

Decide what keywords will be advantageous in using before constructing your Web site and its pages. Do research on browsers’ search methods and analyze your competition’s keywords.

General optimization
As aforementioned, the ideal recipe for success has not been divulged by Google, but there are aspects to pay particular attention to. The title of each page is important. You want your page title to contain your keyword or words which are pertinent to its content. Keep the title of your page under 80 characters.

You also want the meta descriptions of your pages to contain the keywords which are most germane to the content of the pages. The content of your Web pages should focus on your products and services. Compose the content to frequently contain your keywords. For instance, keywords should be placed in article titles, used frequently in the body of the work, and used as hyperlinks to appropriate pages.

Search engines like to see new content. If you do not have an in-house copywriter, then it is important to outsource for material. Get in the habit of posting at least one new page a day to your site.
